About The Position
The Biller I is a full-time position responsible for accurate medical billing, coding, claim submission, and reimbursement follow-up. This role ensures financial accuracy and regulatory compliance within the Clinic Management Services department at Covington County Hospital.
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Biller.
- Knowledge of billing processes, coding standards, and insurance guidelines.
- Proficiency with billing software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA.
Nice To Haves
- Billing/coding certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and re-code medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Submit insurance claims.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Communicate with insurers, patients, and providers.
- Maintain billing records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Stay current on coding rules and regulations.
- Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment plans.
