Bill of Materials Technician
About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Bill of Materials Technician to support the development, accuracy, and optimization of Construct models, Insight configuration, and Bills of Materials (BOM). This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless integration between design, configuration, and production, while actively supporting production teams in resolving BOM- and machining-related issues. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of CAD/CAM systems, cabinet construction, and data-driven manufacturing environments, along with a collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction and manufacturing processes
- Ability to visualize and interpret complex 3D models
- High attention to detail with strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Diploma and/or certification in 3D Modeling Software or Engineering Technician Diploma
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Construct articles, parametric catalogues, and variable structures
- Build and maintain databases for parts, cabinets, hardware, and special drawings
- Define machining principles, tooling, and CNC integration
- Maintain Insight master data, ITe data model, routings, and automation rules
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, data, and configuration issues
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve Construct and Insight functionality
- Troubleshoot machining specifications and BOM-related production issues
- Support transportation logic, scan points, status rules, and label printing
- Test Construct BOMs in live production with Operations and Production teams
- Perform manual intervention on sales orders during Hyper Care as required
- Provide training to CAD teams, Junior Construct Technicians, and Production leadership
- Support product development and CNC process improvements
