About The Position

Devereux is seeking a passionate Bilingual Therapist to provide critical intervention to children and adolescents in their residential programs. These programs offer 24/7 structured, therapeutic living environments for youth with significant emotional, behavioral, developmental, or psychiatric needs. The programs integrate individual and group therapy, psychiatric services, educational support, life skills training, and comprehensive assessments. A multidisciplinary team delivers applied behavior analysis, occupational/physical therapy, dual diagnosis care, and specialized clinical interventions, preparing residents for successful transitions back to home or community settings. Family involvement and coordinated treatment planning are crucial for sustaining therapeutic gains.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the field of counseling, social work, or psychology field required.
  • Two years' experience working directly with children and families.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more.
  • Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, and TB Test.
  • Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with children who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, or youth who have been adjudicated delinquent and are committed and are emotionally disturbed.
  • Must be able to complete a 2 week hire orientation class (Monday - Friday); hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day.

  • Provide critical intervention to children and adolescents.

  • Involve families and participate in coordinated treatment planning.
