About The Position

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Therapist is responsible for completing clinical assessments and providing therapy to individuals, families, and groups. This role uses independent judgment and discretion to provide individual, child, family, and group therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to children and families. The Therapist will gather information, assess needs, and provide appropriate direct clinical and related therapeutic services, emphasizing evidence-based practices (EBPs), to clients and/or their families. They will maintain appropriate case notes and other records, prepare periodic reports, and meet or exceed client service delivery goals. The position involves ongoing clinical assessment and treatment planning, participation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and consultation with representatives of other agencies. Therapists will also participate in regular clinical supervision and continuously increase their professional knowledge through various educational activities. For CalWORKs Therapists, this includes managing an assigned caseload of up to 60 individuals across all Levels of Care (LOCs), ensuring timely access to care, ongoing engagement, and delivery of clinically appropriate services.

Requirements

2 years of therapeutic experience.
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance or reliable transportation depending on business needs.
Required to travel extensively (> 50% of the time).
Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.
Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Punctual and dependable attendance.
Current Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registration required (for Senior Therapist and Therapist).
Current licensure with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) (for Senior Therapist).
Intermediate knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and E-mail.
Proficient in Electronic Health Records System.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining knowledge of service standards and policies as stipulated by contract, licensing, and/or other governing bodies.
Continuously increasing professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in in-service programs.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
