About The Position

The Bilingual (Spanish) Navigator supports parents and children to prevent out-of-home placement or disruption of a current placement. Depending on the assigned role, the Navigator uses the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework and evidence-based practices to help families access resources and become healthy, stable, and safe. The role uses bilingual English-Spanish skills to support clear communication with staff, clients, and community members as needed; it does not include formal translation or interpretation responsibilities. The Navigator completes training and certifications required by the assigned Hilltop program, curriculum, or practice, and performs duties in accordance with fidelity standards, grant requirements, and program guidelines. The position makes initial contact with families through Family Resource Center walk-ins or other referrals, explains available services, provides referrals or concrete support, and meets families individually, at home, or by phone. After enrollment, the Navigator maintains family documentation, helps families develop individualized goals and plans, administers required assessments and screenings, and enters program data. The role maintains regular family contact, including at least two contacts per month for families on the caseload, and documents contacts and data in a timely manner. Where applicable, the Navigator may share lived experience, model effective interactions, advocate for and mentor participants, and help build natural supports.
