About The Position

Staffinity is currently seeking a Project Manager II for a major client in the Life Sciences sector. The duties and responsibilities will be a mix of project management and project engineering. This is a permanent position offering a competitive base salary, benefits, and vacation. The base salary range is 110-130k,This is a managerial role that requires significant travel (at least 40% required). Travel will be local within the area. Position will be full-time in office for the first 2-3 months and then will move to a hybrid environment, 50% work from home. Fluency in both English and French is essential for this position.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Professional designation (OIQ or PEO) is required.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in Project Management or as a Process Engineer.
  • Specialized knowledge of Food, Cosmetic, or Pharmaceutical processes.
  • High level of comprehension of P&ID's, Isometrics, layouts, 3D drawings, and functional descriptions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and data entry software.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete complex technical tasks without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both official languages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, ensuring execution is completed safely, on time, on spec, and on budget.
  • Ensure full compliance with Prevention, Quality, and Productivity (P.Q.P) rules across all installations.
  • Track project performance against budgetary objectives, reporting estimated versus actual costs and explaining variances.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and maintain strong professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Prepare quotations, draft technical proposals, and manage order modifications in compliance with contracts.
  • Organize and lead internal and external project meetings, including Kick-Off, Weekly, and Fortnightly reviews.
  • Apply standard Engineering practices to review calculations, drawings, piping layouts, and functional descriptions.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain department to plan procurement and validate technical specifications.
  • Oversee shop fabrication, onsite installation, and equipment start-up.
  • Facilitate acceptance tests including Simulations, FAT, SAT, and Qualifications.
  • Prepare project status reports for upper management and execute final project handovers.
