About The Position
Allied Physicians Group is hiring a bilingual Medical Assistant for its pediatric urgent care location in Riverhead, New York. The role supports pediatric providers in a fast-paced, team-focused urgent care environment, helping deliver efficient, compassionate, patient-focused care to children and families. The position includes weekday evening shifts from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and weekend shifts from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Compensation is listed at $23–$25 per hour. Benefits are available to employees working at least 30 hours per week.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
- EKG certification or experience.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Strong clinical, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, team-oriented, and patient-focused mindset.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred; athenaOne experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Room and prepare pediatric patients for urgent care visits.
- Obtain vital signs and medical histories, and perform clinical intake.
- Assist providers with urgent care procedures and patient flow.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
- Support medication administration and clinical documentation.
- Educate and reassure patients and families during visits.
- Maintain exam rooms and supplies, and follow infection control standards.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and front desk staff.
- Help ensure an efficient, positive patient experience.
