About The Position

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is a mission-driven community health organization focused on improving community health and advancing health equity. The Bilingual Medical Assistant works collaboratively with a care team—including providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, and behavioral health consultants—to provide quality health services and resources to patients. The role includes assisting providers with onsite procedures; taking vital signs; performing phlebotomy; administering medications and vaccines; responding to patient questions; returning calls; scheduling appointments; and reviewing medical records. The position also offers clinical and technical training with Epic, an electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification.
• At least one year of experience or a clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with an electronic medical record system; Epic preferred.
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants, and other care team members to support patient needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take patients’ vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications and vaccines to patients.
• Respond to patient questions and return calls.
• Schedule appointments.
• Review medical records.
