About The Position

Outreach is a Christian community service organization providing counseling, case management, youth development, older adult services, and community development. For over 50 years, Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, Illinois. We are seeking highly competent professionals who desire to pursue Outreach's mission to restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be. Outreach is hiring a Full-time Bilingual Junior High Program Coordinator for Outreach West Chicago (Puente del Pueblo) to lead Puente del Futuro, our middle school after-school and summer program. This position serves approximately 25 (school year) to 45 (summer) students and includes student recruitment, academic support, Christian education, behavior management, staff and volunteer supervision, parent engagement, school partnerships, and program administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Ministry, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with middle school youth.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and good driving record.
  • Commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission and Faith.
  • Attendance and active engagement in one of the congregations of Wheaton Bible Church (including Iglesia del Pueblo) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous classroom teaching or after-school program experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising volunteers and/or staff preferred.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Puente del Futuro after-school and summer programs and supervise staff, volunteers, and interns.
  • Recruit students and maintain program enrollment.
  • Develop and implement engaging academic, life skills, recreation, and Christian education programming.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, local schools, Wheaton Bible Church, and community partners.
  • Maintain program records, grant documentation, student data, and program logistics.
  • Support trauma-informed programming and positive behavior management.
