About The Position

This position is part of the Corporate Finance Group and focuses on credit analysis and credit approval for lending to primarily Japanese corporate clients.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience at a bank or financial institution.
Strong experience in financial statement and credit analysis.
Strong understanding of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
Business-level English, both written and verbal.
Business-level Japanese; native or near-native preferred.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Corporate banking experience.
Experience working with Japanese corporate clients.
Knowledge of credit rating models and credit approval processes.
Understanding of the U.S. market and regulatory environment.
CPA, CFA, or FRM certification.

Responsibilities

Analyze companies’ financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
Evaluate credit risk, business risks, and industry conditions.
Assign and maintain internal credit ratings.
Prepare credit application and approval memos and coordinate the internal approval process.
Monitor existing borrowers and conduct periodic credit reviews.
Work closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, and Head Office.
Communicate credit analysis and transaction details to Head Office and internal risk teams.
Provide credit and risk recommendations to the front-office/Relationship Management team.
Support the bank's credit policies and risk management framework.
