About The Position

Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is seeking a Bilingual Instructor for its SUCCESS Workforce Development program. This role involves collaborating with a content instructor to deliver contextualized bilingual instruction in Spanish and English to students in non-credit Workforce Development courses. STCC's Workforce Development Center (WDC) offers a variety of programs and classes designed to meet the evolving technological and workforce demands of the region, leading to employment opportunities. The WDC provides both instructor-led and web-based training in areas such as Construction/Trades, Healthcare, IT/Network Certification, and Professional Development.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 months of teaching experience
Ability to teach in both English and Spanish languages
Experience working with a diverse population
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility and ability to respond appropriately to multiple requests in a changing work environment while maintaining the focus required to see tasks to completion

Nice To Haves

Licensed educator with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Familiarity with digital learning
College teaching experience
Online teaching experience
Experience in the course field

Responsibilities

Co-plan with the content instructor to design dynamic instruction in line with the needs of the students in the class.
Utilize the established curriculum and content that has been designed/selected for the course.
Identify appropriate curricular resources and translate materials as needed.
Co-teach with the content instructor in Spanish and English to support students' development of language skills.
Conduct courses on the STCC campus or off-campus at a community partner location.
Deliver differentiated classroom instruction in a variety of formats including large group, small group, one-on-one and computerized instruction.
Collaborate with the content instructor to pre- and post- assess student learning and keep accurate attendance, grades, and skills information as required for the specific certification by the licensing agency.
Regularly communicate with students to support enrollment, orientation, retention, and successful completion of the course.
Perform other duties as assigned.
