Requirements

  • Fluency in English and French, both written and oral.
  • College or university degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience as an HR generalist, with at least 3 years of experience in the field of labour relations.
  • Previous experience in workforce support in Quebec, knowledge of the CNESST and the CCQ.
  • Previous experience in supporting a large number of remote workers. You've not only embraced the new way of working from home, but you've also mastered the work/life balance it requires.
  • Ability to adapt, to look back on a dime and to re-evaluate in the face of numerous and competing priorities.
  • Experience conveying sensitive and difficult communications to employees and the management team
  • Working knowledge of labour law, legal decisions and regulations in several regions of Canada.
  • Strong employee relations and business management coaching skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to manage conflict while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstration of a continuous improvement mindset and a good knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Less than 5% of travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP, CRIA, or any other similar human resources designation, preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with various centers of expertise, shared service centers, and human resources and compliance groups.
  • Advise on a variety of complex employee relations issues, such as corrective measures, policy violations, performance and collective agreement issues.
  • Work independently in ambiguous situations and adapt quickly to changes and guide the different levels of the organization to adapt to these changes.
  • Provide professional coaching to HR team members and others within the organization.
  • Determine workforce and hiring plans needed to guide recruitment staff in their efforts to develop a high-level employee recruitment strategy, in partnership with the Talent Attraction team.
  • Lead and participate in organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives from design to implementation.
  • Introduce human resources programs to client groups and employees.
  • Manage issues of all kinds in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Work with leaders to assess current talent and develop long-term talent strategies that establish the required skills and qualification levels and ultimately improve the organization's performance.
  • Develop and implement processes to facilitate organizational change and support appropriate change management processes.
  • Lead and participate in projects.
  • Respect differences and advocate for inclusion throughout the company.
