About The Position

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) is seeking a part-time Bilingual Food Program Area Coordinator to join their Food Program team. This role is responsible for conducting monitoring visits for WECA Food Program participants on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure compliance with all program policies and procedures. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, as is in-depth knowledge of early childcare programs. This is a hybrid position, involving work from a home office and on-site visits to childcare programs. While living in the Milwaukee area is preferred, living in the state of Wisconsin is required. The position will cover Dane, Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Racine counties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and course work.
  • Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and attend to multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Ability to attend to detail-oriented work, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of the childcare and early care and education system and workforce in Wisconsin.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, data entry, word processing, specifically Word, Excel, and Access programs.
  • Living in the state of Wisconsin is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor WECA CACFP participants in their family childcare homes for compliance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) regulations concerning the CACFP.
  • Recruit and enroll childcare providers into the WECA CACFP.
  • Disseminate written program compliance materials and forms needed to meet program requirements and assist providers with recognizing and remedying of non-compliances.
  • Provide documentation and tracking of non-compliance.
  • Review and instruct providers on forms to be retained by provider for program documentation.
  • Complete required home visit forms, online monitoring, and provide information for the WECA Madison support staff.
  • Provide written nutrition materials and instruct providers on the nutrition education component required annually.
  • Communicate between participating providers and WECA claims staff for consistent and efficient performance of USDA requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of CACFP requirements through trainings and conference calls.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and team-oriented work environment.

  • Participate actively in team and organizational functions.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner within the early care and education community and WECA’s extended network.
