About The Position

Assist the District Special Programs Coordinator in developing and maintaining a systemic approach to LPAC processes at the secondary campuses and provides support and guidance to district teachers on instructional strategies to better support the needs of EB students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
  • Bilingual Certification (required)
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of research-based instructional practices and strategies for Emergent Bilingual students
  • Knowledge of TEKS, ELPS, and TELPAS
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Familiarity with the LPAC process

Nice To Haves

  • ESL certification (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • Three years of teaching experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist secondary campuses with completion of LPACs and serve as the LPAC member when necessary.
  • Support secondary campuses with initial and transfer LPAC documentation within the appropriate compliance period.
  • Ensure the Bilingual/ESL leads and Coordinators submit the required paperwork for PEIMS compliance.
  • Assist in obtaining LPAC records from other Public Schools, Collects, maintains, and uploads all reports, records, and other required documentation into our record keeping system
  • Update Student History, Files, and any other relevant LPAC documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of LPAC documents for BOY, MOY and EOY LPAC meetings at the secondary campuses.
  • Assist with LAS Links/IOWA testing and scoring
  • Provides guidance and assistance to campuses on LPAC processes.
  • Attends LPAC meetings as needed to ensure all documentation is properly and effectively completed.
  • Stays up to date on any changes at the state level that may impact the Bilingual/ESL program, specifically changes that may impact the LPAC process or documentation
  • Trains and provides additional support to new campus Leads/Coordinators as needed
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
  • Assist in arranging professional development for teachers regarding instructional strategies, best practices, and specific instructional topics at the school and district level.
  • Collaborates with instructional coaches, coordinators, and teachers to ensure effective monitoring of students in the program in an effort to increase the language development, improve student academic achievement, and strive towards meeting exit criteria.
  • Work closely with Instructional coaches to incorporate the ELPS within the curriculum.
  • Support teachers in the development and application of language development strategies.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
  • Foster collaborative educational efforts among staff by supporting the district's mission and its commitment to planning and decision-making.
  • Follow all rules, regulations and policies of Princeton ISD and follow directives from supervisor
  • Follow attendance policy as assigned by the district.
  • Perform other duties and functions that may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
