About The Position

The Bilingual Employee Relations/ HR Generalist supports a positive, compliant, and engaged workforce across construction jobsites and office locations. This role handles employee relations matters, conducts investigations, partners closely with project leadership, and provides broad HR support including compliance, training, performance management, and safety‑related processes. An understanding of OSHA requirements and jobsite practices is ideal, along with experience supporting workers’ compensation and incident response in collaboration with Safety teams.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, clear, direct, and diplomatic in English and Spanish (bilingual required)
  • Ability to de-escalate conflicts, investigate objectively, and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong judgment, organization, and follow-through under tight timelines
  • 3+ years of Employee Relations or HR generalist experience
  • construction industry experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience supporting workers’ compensation, incident response, and return‑to‑work processes
  • Strong understanding of employment laws
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Exceptional communication, conflict‑resolution, and relationship‑building skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (company vehicle or mileage reimbursement per policy)
  • Ability to navigate active construction/industrial environments (walk sites, climb stairs, extended standing)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred or high school diploma/GED with applicable Human Resources experience
  • PowerBI preferred
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and supervisors regarding workplace concerns, policies, and conflict resolution
  • Conduct objective, timely investigations into employee complaints, misconduct allegations, and policy violations
  • Provide guidance to ensure consistent application of company policies
  • Support performance management activities including coaching documentation, employee counseling, and improvement plans
  • Monitor jobsite culture and recommend proactive strategies to improve engagement, retention, and communication
  • Recommend appropriate corrective actions that align with policy, legal standards, and organizational goals
  • Coordinate incident response, including initial intake, documentation, and reporting
  • Support workers’ compensation intake and reporting; ensure timely communication with all stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison with the Safety team, tracking open claims, documenting follow‑ups, and monitoring return‑to‑work status
  • Partner with Safety team, carriers, and clinics on treatment status, modified‑duty opportunities, and return‑to‑work plans
  • Assist with OSHA compliance regulations and internal safety protocols
  • Participate in post‑incident reviews and corrective action discussions to mitigate future risk
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation for both office and field employees
  • Support recruiting coordination for site positions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records
  • Support HR policy updates, employee communications, and training programs
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee inquiries
  • Assist with HR reporting, metrics, and documentation projects
  • Build visible HR presence on active jobsites; proactively connect with craft workers, foremen, and superintendents
  • Work closely with Safety teams to reinforce culture, policies, and behavior expectations
  • Address jobsite‑specific employee concerns related to work conditions, schedules, and project dynamics
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen retention and jobsite engagement
  • Performs other tasks assigned
