About The Position

Mentor South Bay is expanding to Leominster, Massachusetts, and is hiring a Bilingual Early Intervention Specialist to provide in-home early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders. The role supports children’s natural learning and development in collaboration with their families and a team of professionals.

The specialist plans, schedules, and provides weekly early educational services; administers and documents assessments and updates; and designs, implements, and adapts individualized activities across developmental areas. The specialist also models effective adult-child interactions, shares written information and weekly activities with parents, provides coaching, and monitors and communicates each child’s progress to the family and team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood, Special Education, Child Development, Child Studies, Psychology, or Social Work.
• Experience working with children under age 5.
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Access to a registered vehicle and proof of insurance.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for managing relationships.
• Compassionate approach and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infants and toddlers with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
• Administer and accurately document program assessments and updates in accordance with required timelines.
• Design, implement, and adapt individualized activities supporting language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, using best practices.
• Model effective adult-child interactions.
• Provide parents with written information on parenting and child development, weekly activities, and effective coaching.
• Monitor, document, and share each child’s progress with the family and team.
