About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time position is to coordinate and implement health services for Spanish-speaking residents of St. Mary's County by serving as the department's bilingual care coordinator and language access specialist. This position will ensure equitable access to public health programs through professional interpretation and translation, structured client interviews and assessments, and care coordination that identifies health needs and social determinants impacting service connection. The position will also support program operations by maintaining liaison relationships with internal programs and community providers; recommend improvements to outreach and service utilization; and implement phases of program activities that expand access for limited-English-proficient populations. Additionally, this position will work towards our mission of providing equitable care to all and connecting all community members to valuable and necessary resources and services.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
One year of administrative staff or professional work in a health care setting.
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
