About The Position

MDA Space is a global leader in robotics, satellite systems, and geointelligence, with a 55-year history of innovation. The company is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a Bilingual Campus Recruiter to join their Talent Acquisition Team for a minimum of one year, with a high likelihood of extension or conversion to permanent. This role will primarily support the French-speaking site in Quebec and will be crucial in attracting and retaining top talent for the company's future. The recruiter will work closely with hiring leaders, executives, and the Talent Acquisition team to meet the demands of a fast-paced, high-volume campus program. The ideal candidate will be perfectly bilingual in French and English and will also assist with the company's large volume of co-op needs.

Requirements

  • Related post-secondary education and 1-3 years of experience in recruiting, preferably in a high-tech environment.
  • Communicative team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Experience partnering with managers, interviewers, and hiring teams through the hiring process.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and provide strong consultative skills throughout the search process.
  • Self-directed, persistent, and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, good business sense, and strong organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism, with French and English language skills required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Controlled Goods clearance as well as a Reliability security clearance.
  • Occasional travel will be required to support campus events across Quebec and potentially Canada.

  • Someone who is perfectly bilingual (French and English) would be ideal as they could also help with our large volume of coop needs across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, assess, and hire coop and intern candidates in a timely fashion.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key universities and colleges across the country, facilitating deeper relationships with MDA Space’s strategic schools.
  • Post coop and intern needs at appropriate schools.
  • Identify hiring needs and effectively match candidates with roles.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of staffing strategies to provide a qualified and diverse candidate pool.
  • Evaluate skill level, conduct efficient and professional interviews, and drive the offer process, working closely with the extended HR team.
  • Communicate effectively with the hiring manager and interview team to ensure preparedness during the interview process.
  • Share and exchange information with all levels of management.
  • Provide an excellent candidate experience and promote the MDA Space employer brand.
  • Propose and implement ongoing improvements to recruitment efforts.
  • Initiate and lead campus recruiting initiatives such as ambassador programs and initiatives to ensure exceptional MDA Space Coop experiences.
  • Drive the conversion of Coop students to permanent, full-time hires.
