About The Position

The Sun Advantage segment provides service to small and medium businesses (3-49 lives) represented by brokers, MGAs and TPAs. Reporting to the Sun Advantage Underwriting Manager, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risk by analyzing data related to requests from existing customers or new business opportunities. You will provide insights and creative solutions to help solve existing or new client problems when issues arise, set pricing for renewal in-force contracts, and provide quotations for new business opportunities. You will also be expected to meet Sun Life’s quality and service standards and respect deadlines. This role requires developing a good understanding of the administrative, contractual, and legislative Group Benefits environment, as well as a strong understanding of Sun Life’s products and services, underwriting guidelines, systems and tools, pricing methodologies, and market feedback. You will partner with the sales and service team to provide outstanding client services and achieve profitability objectives.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Suite
  • STEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Administration, Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • Solid analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Have a structured and systematic approach aimed at making a unique contribution to various emergency situations in compliance with internal policies and directives
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, under pressure, in an organized, efficient and autonomous manner
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal
