About The Position

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Bilingual Assistant at Academy West for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves supporting teaching faculty by identifying students needing extra help, assisting them with assignments, monitoring their progress, and providing re-teaching and tutoring sessions. The assistant will implement instructional programs under teacher supervision to reinforce learning concepts. The position requires 202 days of service. Requirements

Bilingual in Spanish and English
Associate's degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Competency in using technology
Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Maintain record of interventions and progress monitoring.
Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
