About The Position

BJU Press is seeking a Biblical Worldview Specialist I to join their team. The Biblical Worldview team is responsible for designing K-12 textbooks that foster a biblical worldview in students. This role involves working with writers, instructional designers, editors, scriptwriters, and video instructors to ensure all BJU Press materials support the development of a biblical worldview in students, teachers, and parents. The core of this position is to design the biblical worldview shaping framework for BJU Press textbooks and ensure project teams implement this framework effectively.

Requirements

  • Background in the field of education
  • Master’s degree in biblical or theological studies – typically an MDiv
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant discipline/field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, other departments, and customers
  • Organizational skill to manage varied, overlapping tasks
  • Proficiency in academic research
  • Good communication abilities
  • Skill in wisely resolving conflicts arising from differences of opinion related to worldview formation
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Capacity to motivate and mentor team members (especially writers) to achieve performance goals related to biblical worldview shaping
  • Interest in and ability to develop educational materials
  • Must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission and core biblical doctrines.
  • Expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support the group’s positions on issues such as beverage alcohol and addictive substances, creation, marriage and human sexuality and the sanctity of life.
  • Must be an active member of a local Bible-believing church which holds orthodox theology.
  • Must be committed to providing students an excellent, worldclass education from a biblical worldview that prepares them for a lifetime of service for Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Research academic disciplines to discover how they are rooted in creational design, determine how they have been damaged by the Fall, and develop strategies to restore them to what they should be.
  • Review competitor materials from both Christian and non-Christian publishers in order to develop strategies for worldview formation.
  • Meet weekly with department management to plan projects and receive direction.
  • Work alongside writers and instructional designers to plan, write, and revise objectives, instructional materials, and assessments that support the BJU Press mandate for biblical worldview formation.
  • Meet regularly with teams (writers especially) to evaluate progress and plan success.
  • Assist BJU Press in promoting biblical worldview shaping in new opportunities.
