Assistant Professor - Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry
About The Position
Regent University’s College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Old Testament to teach in the Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry department. This will be a residential position located on the Virginia Beach, Virginia, campus. The successful applicant will possess a PhD in Old Testament, Bible Exposition, or an equivalent field from a regionally accredited institution. The ideal candidate will specialize in the intertextuality of the Old Testament books, assigning more contextual weight to the greater narrative that binds the thirty-nine books in anticipation of Jesus Christ and the New Testament. The candidate will also possess skill in teaching at the undergraduate level. Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew I and II is also preferred. Candidates will primarily teach 15-week, on-campus courses. However, an ability to teach 8-week online courses via Canvas is expected. Requirements
- PhD in Old Testament, Bible Exposition, or an equivalent field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Specialization in the intertextuality of the Old Testament books, assigning more contextual weight to the greater narrative that binds the thirty-nine books in anticipation of Jesus Christ and the New Testament.
- Skill in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning.
- Facility in oral and written communication.
- Demonstration of academic publishing success (and an agenda for further research and writing).
- Regular participation and engagement in academic societies.
- Eagerness to engage in inter-faculty collegiality in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements.
- Willingness to subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
