About The Position

Capgemini is seeking a Senior BI / ETL Test Engineer with strong experience in SAP BW report testing, SAP HANA, ETL testing, and data validation. The role is based onsite in Phoenix, Arizona, and involves end-to-end testing of BI and data warehouse solutions. The engineer validates business data flows, ETL processes, data lineage, transformations, data integrity, and reporting accuracy across SAP BW and SAP HANA environments. The role requires hands-on expertise with SAP BEx Analyzer and BEx Query Designer, the ability to investigate complex defects, and the judgment to develop test strategies, recommend testing tools and approaches, and assess technical risks independently. The engineer works closely with business and technical stakeholders and provides guidance on complex testing initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in BI/ETL testing and SAP BW report testing, with a solid understanding of data warehouse and business intelligence testing concepts.
• Strong expertise in SAP BEx Analyzer and SAP BEx Query Designer for validating SAP BW reports, queries, calculations, and reporting outputs.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BW and SAP HANA, including validation of underlying data, transformations, data flows, and reporting layers.
• Experience with functional, integration, and regression testing, defect management, and end-to-end validation.
• Strong ETL and data validation experience, including source-to-target mapping, data reconciliation, lineage validation, transformation testing, and data integrity checks.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation, reconciliation, defect investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, data marts, and BI reporting architectures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to independently investigate complex data and reporting defects.
• Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, technical feasibility assessments, risk assessments, and test effort estimates.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end testing of BI and ETL systems, validating business data flows, ETL processes, data lineage, transformations, and data integrity across SAP BW and SAP HANA environments.
• Test SAP BW reports for functionality, business logic, calculations, aggregations, and data accuracy.
• Develop and execute report tests using SAP BEx Analyzer and BEx Query Designer to ensure outputs meet business requirements.
• Design and execute ETL test scenarios covering source-to-target validation, data reconciliation, transformation logic, regression testing, and data quality.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data, investigate discrepancies, and support defect root-cause analysis.
• Analyze BI, ETL, and reporting defects and collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to resolve them.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, risk assessments, and test estimates, and recommend testing tools and methodologies.
• Own testing deliverables independently and provide technical guidance for complex BI, ETL, and SAP BW testing initiatives.
