About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for the BHS Girls Ice Hockey JV position. This role requires a strong understanding of the sport and the ability to work effectively with high school athletes. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for student-athletes, developing sportsmanship, and setting high standards both on and off the field. The position also involves growing the sport within the community.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Exceptional knowledge of the sport of ice hockey.
• Proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Demonstrate interest in and ability to grow the sport in our community.
• Demonstrate commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete.
• Demonstrate dedication to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field and connecting with their student-athletes.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience associated with the JV level of ice hockey.

• Coach high school athletes in the sport of ice hockey at the junior varsity level.
