About The Position

Oaklawn is seeking a talented individual to become a Porter. The Porter is responsible for placing stock in proper storage areas, rotating stock, cleaning and maintaining work areas and kitchens, and overall production for all Food & Beverage venues. The ideal candidate will present a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn and provide excellent guest service. This role ensures a consistent flow of services to guests by stocking items needed by Concession cashiers, cooks, and supervisor staff. The Porter will also maintain par stock levels, receive and deliver products, stock and re-stock bars, distribute clean bar towels, organize and clean pump rooms, coolers, and storage areas, and replace and rotate draught beer kegs, liquor, and soda bag-in-boxes as needed. The position requires staying up-to-date on property events and hours of operation, cooperating with team members, and staying informed of company communications. The role also involves assisting other team members and departments, maintaining an attitude consistent with company core values, and requiring punctual attendance and the ability to work required overtime.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
1+ years food service experience preferred
1+ years guest service experience
Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time
Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Food & Beverage team members
Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Excellent communication skills
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Superior attention to detail and accuracy
Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to multi-task and remain organized

Responsibilities

Placing stock in proper storage areas
Rotating stock
Cleaning and maintaining work areas and kitchens
Overall production for all Food & Beverage venues
Providing excellent guest service
Ensuring a consistent flow of services to guests by stocking items needed by Concession cashiers, cooks, and supervisor staff
Ensuring that supplies are stocked, to include beer, ice, food, cups and other items needed though out the day
Maintaining par stock levels for all supplies
Receiving and delivering products to appropriate outlet and stocking in accordance to specification
Stocking and re-stocking bars throughout shift with all bar supplies, bar glasses and ice as required
Stocking server wells in accordance to specifications with all products and supplies required
Distributing clean bar towels and collecting soiled ones and discarding them in the appropriate place
Organizing and cleaning pump rooms, coolers and storage areas to specification
Sweeping and mopping pump room, coolers and storage area floors
Soaking and cleaning soda bag-in-box hoses and nozzles
Replacing and rotating draught beer kegs, liquor and soda bag-in-boxes and other items as needed
Remaining up-to-date on property events and hours of operation
Cooperating and communicating with all fellow team members, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude
Making efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by participating in department meetings, huddles and reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter
Assisting other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department
