About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Benefits & Payroll Intern to join our People team. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) from a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • No prior professional work experience required.
  • Strong academic record is highly desirable.

  • Attention to Detail: Possesses exceptional accuracy and thoroughness in completing tasks and managing data.

  • Technical Aptitude: Proficient in G-Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration and management of employee Leaves of Absence (LOA), including data entry, documentation creation, top-up calculations, tracking, and coordination with HR, payroll, and third-party benefit vendors.
  • Support multi-state payroll compliance activities across the US, including coordinating and executing the closure of state payroll accounts inherited from acquired entities, covering both State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) and State Income Tax withholding accounts (SIT).
  • Aid in the coordination and documentation preparation for annual 401(k) audits and related plan activities from acquired entities.
  • Provide support for Canadian payroll processes, particularly related to provincial taxation requirements and current integration efforts, including assisting with manual data verification.
  • Perform data entry, maintain accurate records, and generate reports as needed for benefits and payroll functions.
  • Conduct research on benefits and payroll compliance topics to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Benefits & Payroll department.
