About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic team player to join as a Benefits Manager on Asana’s People Team. In this role, you will design and scale foundational benefits programs that drive consistency, well-being, and equity across our North America organization. You will own key offerings, including health & welfare benefits, wellness, and retirement, ensuring every Asana has access to comprehensive, competitive support. Requirements

  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
  • 6+ years of experience in benefits program management, with a track record of owning and scaling health & welfare, and retirement programs.
  • Expertise as a benefits administration system administrator or power user, with demonstrated ability to advise on enrollment strategy, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of NAMER benefits compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state paid leave laws); familiarity with Canadian benefits programs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with total rewards philosophy and inclusive, equity-informed benefits design.
  • Clear, compelling communicator, both verbally and in writing, capable of synthesizing complex plan information and guiding employees with empathy.
  • Approach problem-solving with a strong sense of urgency, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional time management skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional change and influencing peer and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Comfort designing measurable success metrics and using data to drive decision-making.

  • Familiarity with Canadian benefits programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Global Benefits to own the strategy, design, and execution of high-impact benefits programs across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Design and continuously improve the overall experience, communications, and delivery of benefits programs, maximizing employee well-being and reducing friction for all Asanas.
  • Own relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs, leading renewals and ongoing performance management.
  • Establish yourself as the administrator for our benefits administration platform, advising People Ops and cross-functional teams on strategy for enrollment, data integrity, governance, reporting, and process optimization.
  • Partner with stakeholders in People Operations, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition to integrate benefits into the end-to-end employee lifecycle and lead cross-functional change initiatives.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of relevant regulations (including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state-specific leave laws), ensuring programs and plan documents remain compliant.
  • Design measurable frameworks for benefits utilization, employee satisfaction, and cost management using data to inform future strategy and investment.
  • Apply an AI-first approach to streamline benefits administration and case management, creating personalized employee communications.
