About The Position

Our client, an international manufacturing organization with its US headquarters in WNY, is looking to add an Benefits & Leave Specialist to their growing team. This role will provide guidance and support to employees throughout benefits decisions and leave events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related
  • 2+ years’ experience in Human Resources/Benefits Administration, specifically Leave Management
  • Strong computer skills
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with employees
  • Highly confidential
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organization skills, analytical, and time management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

  • Manage leave events from initial request/intake through return-to-work
  • Act as the initial point of contact and subject matter expert for employee leave requests and information (DBL, FMLA, PFL)
  • Provide detailed information to employees regarding eligibility, leave options, timelines, and required information
  • Provide appropriate paperwork and ensure it is filled out properly and submitted in a timely manner
  • Gather necessary documentation—medical certifications, supporting documentation, release-to-return forms
  • Manage employee files to ensure accurate/detailed records are maintained
  • Maintain accurate timelines for each leave event
  • Provide necessary claim/case information in the event of an audit or claim discrepancy/denial
  • Collaborate with payroll team and benefits carriers to ensure accurate pay/leave coding, proper benefits continuation, and timely claim processing
  • Approach each claim with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Juggle multiple tasks at a time in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary
