About The Position

The Benefit Intake Specialist is responsible for managing the initial patient referral and benefits verification process to ensure timely and accurate access to therapies. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and insurance payers, ensuring coverage requirements are met and documentation is complete.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in benefits verification, patient intake, or reimbursement support
  • Willingness to reach out to payers
  • Working knowledge of commercial and government insurance plans
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with healthcare systems, EMRs, or CRM platforms

Responsibilities

  • Working our of a que to verify patients insurance are active, deductibles, out of pocket max and DME benefits
  • Pulling patient information from portals and adding it to forms to send out to the sales team.
  • Receive, review, and process patient referrals and intake documentation
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits with commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers
  • Clearly communicate coverage details, financial responsibilities, and next steps to patients and providers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with reimbursement, clinical, and operations teams to resolve intake issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into CRM and case management systems
  • Track and follow up on pending authorizations and missing documentation
  • Partnering closely with the sales team.
  • once fully trained expectations is to handle 20-30 benefits a day. In the first 3 months 10-15 a day.
