About The Position

The Save Mart Companies is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to provide general support to the Benefits Department. This role is responsible for the administration of health/welfare plans, voluntary benefits, and the 401(k) Plan. The Benefits Coordinator will assist employees with benefit-related questions, serve as a liaison between associates and third-party administrators/vendor partners, and ensure the timely processing of weekly and monthly invoices. The Save Mart Companies operates over 200 stores across California, Western Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, employing 11,000 associates and is committed to providing fresh food at affordable prices. Their philanthropic organization, The CARES Foundation, has donated over $5 million to local communities.

Requirements

1 year related experience
2 year/Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience/training
Strong customer service/communication (written and verbal) skills
Ability to work efficiently, independently
Effective time management/prioritization skills
Attention to detail, following through on projects and handling multiple tasks
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of general office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machines, etc)
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work overtime, when needed

Responsibilities

Responds to employee information requests from third party benefits and 401(k) administrators
Assists with dependent verifications and qualifying life events
Instructs employees on basic benefit plan coverages
Participates in User Acceptance Testing during open enrollment or any system implementations
Acts as point of contact for death claims and vacation payouts
Participates in health fairs and other wellness events
Prepares and processes invoices for payment
Manages incoming mail; processes, files or forwards accordingly
Performs other duties as assigned
