H&P is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Benefits Coordinator to support the administration and delivery of our employee benefits programs. This role serves as a key resource for employees, HR partners, payroll, and external vendors, ensuring an exceptional employee experience while maintaining compliance with regulations, accuracy, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring extensive benefits administration experience, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for supporting employees throughout their career journey. This position plays a critical role in administering health and welfare plans and retirement programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration or Total Rewards.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee benefit plans and applicable regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS, benefits enrollment platforms, and payroll systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting a multi-state employee population.
  • Experience with vendor management and benefits renewals.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of WorkDay a plus.
  • Knowledge of retirement plan administration and wellness programs.
  • Experience supporting employees in energy or field-based environments.
  • CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other related certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, spending accounts, and retirement plans.
  • Process vendor invoices by reviewing for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, coordinating approvals, and supporting timely payment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees questions related to benefits enrollment, eligibility, life events, and claims issues.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless benefits administration.
  • Prepare and maintain benefits-related reports and process documentation.
  • Process and audit employee enrollments, status changes, terminations, and dependent eligibility updates.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, employee education sessions, and benefits communications.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with vendors, brokers, payroll, finance, and HR teams to ensure seamless administration.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and eligibility files while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support administration of COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, metrics, and analysis related to benefit plan utilization, costs, and employee engagement.
  • Participate in benefit audits, compliance reporting, and annual plan reviews.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, service delivery, and the employee experience.
  • Assist with implementation of new programs, systems, and strategic Total Rewards initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced HR or benefits team members as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional employee service and support.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant benefits administration.
  • Build strong relationships across HR and business functions.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Supports H&P's commitment to employee development, organizational health, and operational excellence.
  • Support administration of employee leave and time off programs coordinating with employees, HR, Managers and payroll to ensure accurate tracking, documentation and compliance including state leave programs.
