About The Position

Brandeis University is seeking a collaborative and analytical Benefits Analyst to join their Human Resources team. This role is crucial in managing employee benefit programs, analyzing trends, improving processes, partnering with leadership, and ensuring offerings are competitive, compliant, and meaningful. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3–5 years of benefits administration or HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA programs, and leave administration
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and Massachusetts leave regulations
  • Experience supporting leave of absence and workers’ compensation programs
  • Understanding of retirement plan administration and defined contribution plans
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into recommendations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively across teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required

  • Experience with Workday HCM preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad portfolio of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, leave programs, workers' compensation, tuition remission, well-being initiatives, and more.
  • Support employees through benefits questions and life events with empathy and exceptional service.
  • Partner with insurance carriers, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and evolving benefits requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for retirement plan audits and related documentation.
  • Research market trends and emerging total rewards practices.
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to evaluate and enhance benefits offerings.
  • Lead annual Open Enrollment logistics and communications.
  • Create educational sessions and deliver presentations for employees and new hire orientation.
  • Develop materials and reports for HR leadership and committees.
  • Build and maintain benefits reporting, dashboards, and program metrics.
  • Analyze utilization, cost trends, and plan performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, employee experience, and program effectiveness.
  • Audit invoices, claims reporting, and benefits-related data.
