About The Position

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Benefits Analyst in our Human Resources (HR) Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: Serving as a subject matter expert in employee benefits administration providing technical guidance, case management, and program coordination for disability programs, Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, health and life insurance, retirement plans, deferred compensation, and other state and agency benefit programs for all sworn and professional staff. Ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate processing, and high‑quality service delivery across all assigned benefits functions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of employee benefits administration including workers’ compensation, STD/LTD, health and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement programs, deferred compensation, and FMLA.

  • Required experience administering employee benefits programs in a Human Resources environment, including workers’ compensation, disability benefits, health and life insurance, FMLA, retirement programs, and deferred compensation.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using HRIS platforms such as Cardinal HCM or Oracle PeopleSoft HCM for benefits and human resources transactions.
  • Professional HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred due to the technical nature of the position.
