About The Position

The Benefits Advisor (BA) position supports the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) by conducting VA transition activities. This includes delivering standardized VA Benefits and Services Briefings, providing one-on-one engagements, offering pre-separation counseling support, and participating in military life cycle (MLC) events, Capstone events, and warm-handover support. This role serves as an entry-level instructor, delivering established curriculum and training tools, and ensuring that course content and delivery methods align with established training objectives. Responsibilities also include executing non-event activities at the assigned installation, participating in weekly Site Lead meetings, executing quality management activities across the program and at the assigned installation, and delivering onsite activities along with executing post-event data collection.

Requirements

• Understand and apply adult learning theories
• Understanding of transitioning Service member populations
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite of tools
• Strong customer management and support skills
• Experience delivering interactive workshops and training to live audiences
• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ equivalent work/military experience
• Appropriate certifications

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of VA benefits programs
• Knowledge of the military and experience working with military clients
• Understanding of current veteran issues and challenges pre- and post- transitions
• Preferred emphasis in Training, Education, Career Counseling, or HR
