JOB SUMMARY The Benefits Administrator, Senior is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including enrollments, life events, leaves of absence and wellness initiatives. Serves as a primary point of contact for employees, ensuring accurate benefit administration, regulatory compliance and a high level of customer service throughout the employee lifecycle. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Administers health, welfare, retirement and wellness benefit programs with a working knowledge of plan design, eligibility rules and regulatory requirements. Processes new hire enrollments, open enrollment elections and mid-year benefit changes in accordance with plan rules and regulatory timelines. Evaluates and processes qualified life event requests (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, loss of coverage) by reviewing documentation, validating eligibility, determining appropriate coverage changes and communicating outcomes to employees. Processes education assistance payments in accordance with company policy, ensuring accurate review, approval and timely disbursement. Coordinates and tracks employee leaves of absence (FMLA, non-FMLA, parental, military), partnering with third-party leave administrator to ensure accurate eligibility determinations and return-to-work tracking and process improvement opportunities. Maintains accurate benefit and leave records in HRIS and benefits administration systems; audit data and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed. Serves as a primary contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing clear, timely and accurate guidance. Coordinates wellness events and employee benefits orientation sessions, including scheduling, communication, materials preparation, with internal partners and vendors as applicable. Ensures all benefits administration activities comply with plan documents, company policies, and applicable regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).Coordinate with benefits vendors, payroll and internal HR business partners to resolve eligibility, enrollment and coverage issues. Prepares and supports benefits-related audits, reporting and documentation to promote consistency, compliance and efficiency in benefits administration. Documents and maintains standard operating procedures for assigned responsibilities. Maintains confidentiality and security of employee records and sensitive information. Performs other duties as assigned.
