About The Position

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This temporary position is with Dept of Agriculture & Consumer Services – Human Resources, located at 2 West Edenton Street, Raleigh NC, Wake County.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Experience administering NC State sponsored benefits programs
  • Knowledge of HR Policies and procedures
  • Experience using the Integrated HR-Payroll System (PA Actions, BOBJ reporting)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive introduction to the agency through new employee orientation.
  • Assist with the administration of various leave programs such as short-term disability, Voluntary Shared Leave, Family Medical Leave, and Family Illness Leave.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable policies.
  • Enter personnel actions into the Integrated HR-Payroll System (IHRPS).
  • Provide administrative support to the Safety Director in managing Workers’ Compensation activities.
  • Assist with special projects and training initiatives as needed.
