About The Position

The Benefits Account Manager will provide support for the Account Executive through various duties and responsibilities. This role involves entering client data, managing RFPs, providing customer service, coordinating workflows, and preparing various reports and documents. The position also requires technical expertise in benefits administration and compliance, with opportunities for professional development and certification.

Requirements

  • College Degree Preferred
  • 24 to 36 months of experience in an Assistant Account Manager role / 24+ months equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish a major plus
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, possess basic word processing and spreadsheet computer skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooperation and effective communication with clients, vendors and internally with co-workers.
  • Ability to service our clients effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity and tactfulness.
  • Operational knowledge of various windows based application programs such as Excel, Word, Power Point and current Internet technologies
  • Willing to work overtime due to cyclical nature of business (primarily August thru December)
  • Masters all Account Manager duties and demonstrates proficiency and how to research and access best practice documentation

Responsibilities

  • Enter client data into Benefit Point for RFPs, prospect/opportunity reports, and client rate/plan updates.
  • Provide customer service by researching and answering client questions regarding benefit plans, claims, and billings.
  • Assist with the set-up of client websites and maintain on-line client binders.
  • Coordinate workflows according to the Benefits Timeline.
  • Act as a lead for other Account Managers in the absence of the Account Executive.
  • Create and release Requests for Proposal (RFP) to Carriers by due dates.
  • Maintain marketing binders and follow up with carriers to ensure timely quotes.
  • Prepare and review spreadsheets for accuracy.
  • Finalize and review formal proposals, including copying, printing, and binding materials.
  • Prepare communication booklets.
  • Conduct enrollment meetings as necessary.
  • Gather and submit data for ICAF/Milliman/DMW reporting.
  • Compile information for the Sr. Account Consultant/Executive Team Lead.
  • Create aggregate reports upon request.
  • Initiate stewardship reports from Benefit Point workflows and activities.
  • Submit Medicare Part D disclosure letters to clients.
  • Compile data from Carriers and submit Schedule A’s to clients.
  • Prepare Annual Notices for distribution.
  • Expand technical skill set by participating in technical skill development.
  • Complete Bisys Correspondence courses for major lines of business.
  • Initiate participation in the GBA certification.
  • Attend EBIA Webinars for CE credits.
  • Provide support to Sr. Account Consultant or Account Executive as directed.
