The Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) is a Colorado-based nonprofit dedicated to building economic and racial equity by confronting economic abuse and investing in community wealth. Launched in 2020 as the COVID-19 Eviction Defense Project, CEDP has expanded its integrated services model to include disaster response, predatory towing, debt collection, benefit access & navigation, long-term rental assistance, and homelessness response. The organization serves over 1,000 people per month, employing a team of housing lawyers, economists, data analysts, policy experts, organizers, and technologists. CEDP's model has been recognized by the White House and HUD as a best practice. The Temporary Benefit Enrollment & Digital Equity Specialist will support clients in accessing critical public benefits such as SSI, SSDI, SNAP, and digital equity tools and services. This role involves providing hands-on, client-centered guidance through complex application processes, coordinating with internal teams, and addressing systemic barriers to resource access. The specialist will play a crucial role in strengthening application outcomes and ensuring clients secure and maintain eligible benefits.
