About The Position

Kleinfelder’s Corporate Office has an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys providing exceptional customer service, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting key HR processes in a collaborative and stable work environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in related experience required
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information, and excellent communication skills for resolving customer service issues.
  • Associates degree or equivalent in related field from two-year college or technical school required.

Nice To Haves

  • UKG Pro experience desired.
  • HR certificate desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administering employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave programs.
  • Coordinate new hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, annual open enrollment, and benefit terminations.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding eligibility, coverage, claims, enrollment, and benefit policies.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records within the HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Audit benefit data and payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and timely corrections.
  • May assist with leave administration, including FMLA, state leave programs, and ADA accommodations, as applicable.
  • Review employee communications, benefit guides, and educational materials.
  • Support annual open enrollment planning, employee meetings, and system testing.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and Section 125 requirements.
  • Assist with benefit audits, reporting, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance the employee benefits experience.
  • Partner with payroll to reconcile benefit deductions and employer contributions.
  • Coordinate with benefit carriers and third-party administrators to resolve eligibility and claim issues.
