About The Position

Signet Jewelers is hiring a Bench Jeweler for its Field Design & Service Center Team. The role involves restoring jewelry, performing repairs, and, depending on the team member’s skill set, designing and creating custom jewelry. Team members provide a customer-first experience and work to exceed expectations for custom jewelry design and repairs. Signet offers training and continuous learning, with opportunities to develop from entry-level work toward more advanced jeweler roles in a promote-from-within environment. Pay is based on current jeweler skills and experience. Full-time work consists of a 40-hour work week, with seasonal required overtime; hours may vary and include some nights and weekends.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• 1–3 years of Bench Jeweler or relevant skilled-trades experience working with fine metals.
• Pass a qualified bench test to assess current jeweler level.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer-service mindset and a high standard for quality work.
• Basic computer skills.
• Availability for varying hours, including some nights and weekends.
• Ability to work seasonal required overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge or experience in stone setting, sizing, polishing, and jewelry repair.
• Experience with chain and clasp repair, prong retipping, creating stone mountings, channel and platinum rebuilds, minor ring repair, wax carving, fabrication, casting, custom design and creation, or CAD/CAM design work.

Responsibilities

• Restore jewelry and perform jewelry repairs.
• Support custom jewelry design and creation according to skill level.
• Deliver a customer-first experience that exceeds customer expectations for custom jewelry design and repairs.
• Perform bench-jeweler work such as chain and clasp repair, prong retipping, stone setting, creating stone mountings, channel and platinum rebuilds, minor ring repairs, wax carving, fabrication, casting, and CAD/CAM design work, as applicable to current skills.
