About The Position

As a Belt Technician at Applied Industrial Technologies, you will customize heavy-duty belts and rubber components to customer specifications, either in-house or at a customer site. The company provides ongoing training, feedback, and support to help you achieve company and personal goals. Your individual and team contributions directly affect customer satisfaction and business results.

The role involves fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing conveyor belting, systems, and other rubber products. Work may take place at customer sites and may involve travel, overnight stays, overtime, weekends, heights, and confined spaces.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of proven experience in field service work, maintenance, or other hands-on work.
• Organization and prioritization skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper English and grammar.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights and in tight spaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% away from home, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair belts and rubber components.
• Install and vulcanize lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting.
• Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain the stock area and prepare sales orders.
• Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
• Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting, systems, and other rubber products.
• Work in a way that ensures the safety of everyone involved.
• Use tools and equipment with proper care.
• Detect and report defective equipment or materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a neat, orderly work area.
