About The Position

The Bell Person serves as a first and lasting impression of the Killington Grand Hotel, providing warm, welcoming, and professional service to guests throughout their stay. Responsibilities include assisting with arrivals and departures, opening doors, handling and storing luggage and equipment, maintaining the lobby and storage areas, assisting with guest vehicles, and providing information about the resort and surrounding area. The Bell Person plays an essential role in creating a positive and memorable guest experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid US driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Must be able to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry luggage and equipment, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to quickly learn about hotel and resort operations and provide knowledgeable assistance to guests.
  • Ability to consistently represent the Grand Hotel and Killington as a positive brand ambassador, with a strong focus on guest service and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and provide exceptional, professional service, including opening doors, unloading and transporting luggage, tagging and storing baggage, and delivering items as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of hotel arrivals and departures, resort activities, restaurants, events, attractions, and local businesses to effectively assist guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the bellman closet, ski and bike check, hotel lobby, entrances, and parking areas. This may include seasonal tasks such as shoveling snow, salting walkways, starting and tending to fires in lobby fireplace and maintaining firewood.
  • Assist guests with wheelchairs and other mobility needs in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Safeguard guest belongings and maintain a high level of security and awareness at all times.
  • Operate the courtesy vehicle or other assigned transportation, safely and in compliance with all applicable laws, licensing requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with hotel emergency procedures, fire systems, information security requirements, and all applicable company policies.
  • Promote positive relationships with guests, coworkers, supervisors, and managers through professional and respectful communication.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and complete all required training, safety briefings, and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and requirements may change based on operational needs.
