About The Position

Hilton Grand Vacations is in search of a Bell Captain, an individual with a friendly personality, enjoys being outdoors, and has a sincere smile. The role involves helping guests with their luggage while sharing information about the resort's amenities. This position is at the Ocean Beach Club Resort and Oceanaire in Virginia Beach. The resort is a 536-room, Caribbean-inspired property located near the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and the ocean, offering spacious studios and one- and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, and four oceanfront pools with a cascading waterfall. This family-friendly resort aims to help guests create vacation memories.

Requirements

  • 6 months of Face-to-Face customer service experience
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Ability to move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily Bell operations to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise all bell desk staff and activities, maintaining the desk area.
  • Ensure all luggage, letter, courier, and message movements are tracked and accounted for.
  • Monitor the property's front entrance and guest arrivals.
  • Greet and assist every guest with a sincere welcome, creating a memorable arrival and departure experience.
  • Use members' names, preferences, and routines.
  • Develop a personal connection with each member.
  • Provide instructions regarding resort amenities, property services, and guest activities.
  • Deliver messages, express check-out folios, newspapers, and other requested items.
  • Answer the Valet phone to arrange and confirm parking valet requests and make arrangements for bell desk services.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to general inquiries regarding hotel services and attractions.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and prepare weekly work schedules, adhering to budget goals.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing to meet daily business demands.
  • Report any problems or unusual activities to management, acting as a Safety & Security advocate.
  • Operate a vehicle using safe driving practices to ensure safe delivery of vehicles to and from the parking garage.
  • Ticket vehicles, recording guest name, room number, car license, make/model, charge amount, and length of stay.
  • Follow established procedures for car control, maintaining accurate logs of keys and completing required valet parking log sheets and reports.
  • Retrieve information on guest vehicles and claim checks using the Valet desk computer system.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of each guest vehicle, ensuring it is returned in the same condition it was left.
  • Lead others in the department by mentoring and providing training to staff.
  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance, attitude, and ethics.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
  • Motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team.
