About The Position

Hollyburn Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Behaviour Technician to join their team in Richmond. This role involves ensuring the health and well-being of residents in a supportive therapeutic home for youth. The Behaviour Technician will make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals with varying needs, fostering a positive and nurturing environment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote growth and success.

Requirements

  • Related post-secondary training, education, and willing to complete additional training through Hollyburn
  • Proven experience working with individuals with support needs, including behavioural and attachment challenges.
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Mandt (we will train those who require these certifications)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in strategy development, mediation, counseling, advocacy, community networking, and life skills management.
  • Knowledge of adult and youth care approaches, service plan development, and applicable legislation/regulations.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Participate in assessments, goal setting, and progress evaluation for assigned individuals.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation, including intake forms, progress reports, and discharge reports.
  • Maintain open, authorized communication with families and professionals involved.
  • Implement and update behaviour support plans in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Ensure individuals’ safety, well-being, and physical needs are met, including personal hygiene and medical/dental care.
  • Maintain the home to health and safety standards.
  • Prepare and provide nutritious meals, accommodating dietary restrictions.
  • Support individuals in completing household chores and life skills development.
  • Drive and accompany individuals to school, medical appointments, and outings.
  • Attend school meetings, case conferences, and community events.
  • Educate and raise awareness about mental health in the community.
  • Facilitate recreational and educational activities.
  • Assist individuals in achieving success with routines, hygiene, and life skills.
  • Maintain accurate reports, statistics, and daily activity logs.
  • Manage daily petty cash during shifts.
  • Attend program and staff meetings, as well as supervision and training sessions.
  • Assist Program Supervisor in maintaining client files.
  • Work with service clinician to support client intakes, transitions and discharges from programs.
  • Take leadership role in implementing client behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor specific client programs and oversee data tracking to ensure consistency.
  • Provide coaching to frontline team members to ensure that they develop appropriate skills to achieve successful client outcomes.
