About The Position

The Behavioral Tech III position is integral to the efficient functioning of the Access Center. They will, by virtue of their role, have primary patient contact and, in that role, will have influence on patient treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Techs are professional staff members with responsibility for maintenance of a secure therapeutic milieu in cooperation with a variety of disciplines, most importantly the nursing staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience in substance abuse and mental health setting is required
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care, with a focus on promoting positive outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and any significant changes, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, including therapists and counselors, to support the delivery of comprehensive care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions, encouraging client participation and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory standards within the facility.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in behavioral health care.
