About The Position

The Behavioral Tech III position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned unit(s). They will, by virtue of their role, have primary consumer contact and, in that role, will have influence on consumer treatment and progress. As such, Residential Specialist III are professional staff members with responsibility for supervision and assistance in daily living skills, ensuring safety and well being of consumers, as well as maintenance of a clean, secure therapeutic environment in cooperation with a variety of disciplines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience in substance abuse and mental health setting is required.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation.
  • High level of empathy and interpersonal skills to engage with clients effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA preferred
  • Desirable to have experience working with substance use or co-occurring consumers of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and any incidents during the shift.
  • Provide direct care and support to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and therapeutic activities as directed by clinical staff.
  • Respond to crisis situations and de-escalate potentially volatile situations effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
