Strategies to Empower People is seeking full-time Behavioral Support Staff (Enhanced Direct Support Professional) to provide direct in-home and community support for adults with Developmental Disabilities who require a high level of behavioral and/or medical supports. This role involves working one-on-one with an adult who has an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability and experiences consistent, high behavioral challenges or medical challenges. The clients live in their own homes, not in group homes or locked facilities. The Behavioral Support Staff's primary responsibility is to provide direction and hands-on support with all client needs, ensuring clients actively participate in their own care and daily activities such as eating, cleaning, bathing, and toileting, rather than acting as a butler. This role includes assisting with assessment and behavioral intervention, with specific client training provided on top of general intervention training (Pro-Act). The work is performed in the client's home and community, with a focus on enabling clients to engage with their community despite behavioral challenges.
