About The Position

Strategies to Empower People is seeking full-time Behavioral & Medical Support Staff (Enhanced DSP) to provide direct in-home and community support for adults with Developmental Disabilities who require a high level of behavioral and/or medical supports. This position specifically supports individuals who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing, requiring American Sign Language skills. The role involves working one-on-one with an adult client in their own home, providing direction and hands-on support with all their needs. The goal is to ensure clients engage in all parts of their lives, with the support staff facilitating their participation in activities such as eating, cleaning, bathing, and toileting. The work is performed in Santa Rosa, both in the client's home and in the community, with a focus on enabling clients to engage with their community despite behavioral challenges.

Requirements

At least six months of verifiable experience working with people who have regular behavioral challenges.
Valid California Driver License.
Current auto insurance.
Clean and reliable vehicle.
American Sign Language skills.
Patience.
Adaptability.
Creativity.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
Willingness to advocate for clients.

Nice To Haves

Experience beyond six months with behavioral supports (influences wage offered).

Responsibilities

Provide direct in-home and community support for adults with Developmental Disabilities.
Offer a high level of behavioral and/or medical support.
