People's Arc of Suffolk's mission is to provide dynamic, innovative, and integrated services where children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities discover and define their own quality of life and are thriving to their fullest potential, joined by their families, circles of support, and our person-centered organization. At People's Arc of Suffolk’s Saul and Elaine Seiff Educare Center, we understand the importance of the early years in a child’s learning and development. Our model consists of a continuum of services throughout the child’s adolescence, and prepares students for further education, future employment, and a life of self-sufficiency. The Behavioral Support Assistant, under the direction of the Behavior Intervention Specialist, is responsible for daily supports and implementation of behavioral strategies in a person's plan to assist them.
