This position works under general direction and requires thorough knowledge of behavioral healthcare theories, interventions, and evaluation techniques. The role involves developing and implementing mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders, developing specialized treatment plans and programs, and supervising, evaluating, and training social workers and/or counselors. The position also includes completing mental health risk assessments, providing social psychological services, documenting evaluations and interventions, participating in quality assurance, initiating contact with families and community agencies, making community referrals, and participating in personnel management tasks.
